Custom Capes, Cloaks, and Capelets

We can make pretty much any style of cape or cloak that you would like in just about any color of wool fabric.

The pictures show an awesome capelet that we made last winter for a customer with an over-sized hood. The fabric is a red basket weave wool and it is lined in a cotton fabric with printed doves.

I may or may not be able to get these exact same fabrics, but we always have access to hundreds of fabrics that would look great made into a cloak or cape.

Since we make so many overcoats and jackets, we can always get the most amazing wools, camel hairs, cashmeres, tweeds and alpacas, in nearly every color and weave you can imagine.

Just write us for swatches and let me know if you would like me to sketch up some custom designs just for you.

And as always, we can make these pieces in petite and plus sizes.

We are a small couture studio in Denver, Colorado and make all sorts of custom sportswear, leather jackets, and wedding dresses for customers all over the world.

Deerskin Coats and Vests

Deerskin is expensive! But when you can afford it, it is an amazing luxury.

We always use the best materials for our jackets, whether we are making a jacket from faux-leather, lambskin, or cow hide.

For genuine leather, we always use full grain, grade-A skins to make jackets that are durable, remarkably textured, and dyed all the way through

But nothing is softer to the hand than deerskin. It is thick and yet always feels moist and buttery. It drapes beautifully, and the texture is fascinating.

Here are two projects that we made from deerskin. One is a full length duster and the other a vest with rib knit wool at the hems and coyote fur used as trimming around the hood.

We are a small couture house in Denver, Colorado, but we make garments that fit perfectly for customers all over the world. For truly custom projects like these, we make and sew muslin mock-ups of the garments and send those out first

Then, when we have seen pictures of you wearing the muslin, we alter the pattern and cut a garment that is exactly shaped to your body and sense of style.

So contact us if you would like to discuss what we can do.

All of our projects include having us work with you to sketch up the perfect design and style. Just ask, and we will email a sketch!  We can design something to exact specifications that you provide, or can sketch up multiple options if you just tell us a bit about you and your personal sense of style.

Even in Plaid for Swank!

So you want something special this Fall and Winter…. Just write to us and ask.

We can make pretty much anything and can make it in your size. When the fit is difficult, we make the jacket in cotton muslin for $100 extra and send that to you for feedback before starting the final piece.

Let us know if you want tweed, or a solid color melton, or even leather or shearling (which cost a bit more). Tell us what colors you like, whether you like zippers or buttons or want a hood or fur trimming.

And we will sketch up some ideas and send swatches until we come up with the perfect thing.

A price of $625 is the average for fully lined woolens and a $100 muslin fitting may also be added for the best custom fit.

Some options may be a bit more and some a bit less, just contact us and we will quote you a price for your project.

The Redingote

Our coats, handmade in Denver, Colorado, can be customized in every way.  You get what you want, the way that you want it whether in wool, leather, corduroy or the fabric of your dreams.

Any type of special size, whether plus size or petite is always available.

But this is one of our most popular style.  A bit Victorian, a bit modern.  When we introduced it in our sportswear store, Vigilante Laboratories, we started selling them immediately and have made dozens of variations to match differing tastes.

Warm and fashionable, this coat is cut in multiple panels for an exceptionally full skirt and a snug upper body.

The word “redingote” represents what the words “riding coat” must sound like to the French, and is the Parisian high-fashion take on English equestrian wear.

Made from soft wool coating and with a classic design, this coat will look great for many many years.
