Amazing Tailoring on the Runway

White Vest and Pant SuitEvery year we do a couple of runway shows to display our latest and most unique style.

One of our most recent shows took place at the  Museum of Nature and Science here in Denver.

We showed several women’s sportswear, outwear and formal wear looks.

The pics show some of our favorites:  a ivory wool herringbone suit with beige trim, cropped pants, and a flat cap; a purple tweed peplum jacket with a sporty brown topper, brown pants, and a bold silk cravat; an our of our famous rocker tailcoats shown with a velvet 8-panel cap.Denver Fashion Photographer Brent Andeck-4411

Almost all of the pieces we make are created with a specific client in mind.

A client contacts us and we start sketching and mailing her swatches of fabric until we have the perfect design.

We work with clients all around the world making clothing for lesbian weddings and other formal events, stage shows, and every day wear.

But a runway show is a chance to really have fun with our designs.

To us, every good design has an element of fantasy and evokes the classic designs of the past.

If you have a wedding or other special event, contact us and we can design something for you.

Teal Tweed Suit Every now and then we make a suit that is so stunning it shocks us.

The biggest part of this is getting just the right fabric and look for the client and the event she is attending.

These pieces suddenly create a kind of rift in reality when you look at them.  Time stops and you realize that you are beholding something special—-a time that is carved out of normal space.

suit4We love making suits for everyday wear.  But for a wedding, sometimes something a little more unique is entailed.

The suit in the pics is cut from a teal wool tweed that is woven with lurex metallic fibers and sparkles in the light.

The style features a shawl collar, and is double breasted with brushed metal buttons.

If you are looking for a suit (a bit wild or rather conservative) just contact us and we can design something for you (no matter where in the world you live).

Lesbian Wedding TuxedoWe make suits for hundreds of lesbian weddings every year.

Each of them is a awesome event and an amazing chance for us to show off our best tailoring techniques.

The pics show one of our favorite suits of 2014.

This tux was made from a soft crepe.

Crepe has a gorgeous “vintage” look with a very subtle matte/sheen.  The texture of the fabric is somewhat “pebbled” rather than smooth.  The French pancakes are actually named for the fabric.

This fabric contrasts beautifully with the ultra smooth face of the “blush” satin we used for the lapels, pockets, and tuxedo stripe.

For the style, we chose a shawl collar style.  This rounded collar is one of the classic menswear details and is found extensively on classic tuxedos.  But here, it takes on a more feminine appearance and keeps the look from feeling harsh.Lesbian Wedding Tuxedos

The pants are classic tapered leg tuxedo pants and feature a traditional tuxedo stripe.

We make custom suits for women all across the world each year—-most of our suits are for ladies who are not able to make the trip to come in for a fitting in person here in our studio in Denver Colorado.

To get the best fit, we use our muslin fitting method—-where we actually mail you a mock-up of the whole suit to try on before cutting the actual suit.

So if you are planning a wedding, contact us (superhero@vigilantelabs.com) and let us sketch something for you!

We love making our vest and pant suits for lesbian weddings!

No more frumpy boxy suits with ugly shoulders!

Lesbian Wedding Attire

Our vests can be so much more fitted than a jacket and are structured just like a dress bodice for a beautiful slim shape.

Here are some of the most recent pics from this season:  Weddings in Connecticut, Massachusetts, in California, and in Tel Aviv, Israel.

We are so proud to have made suits for clients in all parts of the world!
