We make suits for hundreds of lesbian weddings every year.
Each of them is a awesome event and an amazing chance for us to show off our best tailoring techniques.
The pics show one of our favorite suits of 2014.
This tux was made from a soft crepe.
Crepe has a gorgeous “vintage” look with a very subtle matte/sheen. The texture of the fabric is somewhat “pebbled” rather than smooth. The French pancakes are actually named for the fabric.
This fabric contrasts beautifully with the ultra smooth face of the “blush” satin we used for the lapels, pockets, and tuxedo stripe.
For the style, we chose a shawl collar style. This rounded collar is one of the classic menswear details and is found extensively on classic tuxedos. But here, it takes on a more feminine appearance and keeps the look from feeling harsh.
The pants are classic tapered leg tuxedo pants and feature a traditional tuxedo stripe.
We make custom suits for women all across the world each year—-most of our suits are for ladies who are not able to make the trip to come in for a fitting in person here in our studio in Denver Colorado.
To get the best fit, we use our muslin fitting method—-where we actually mail you a mock-up of the whole suit to try on before cutting the actual suit.
